1a. Call for art for the “Featuring our Members” page on the Arteast website. We are still accepting artwork for our virtual show!
During this challenging time of self-isolation, artists continue to work on their projects.
Arteast Ottawa would like to take this opportunity to feature their work for all to enjoy.
1b. The Arteast website has a new page, an Artists' Gallery (replacing the previous members link page).
Arteast Ottawa is pleased to offer its members a new opportunity to drive traffic to your artist website, social media account or third party seller platform through the Artists' Gallery on the Arteast website.
You can find the link to this new page on the Arteast website under the “Home” tab. If you would like to join the Artist’s Gallery please have a look at the Artist’s Gallery page (https://arteastottawa.com/artists-gallery/). The Artists' Gallery Guidelines (https://arteastottawa.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Artists-Gallery-Guidelines-July-2020.pdf) will explain everything you need to know. Are you one of those people who wonders about what goes on behind the scenes? How does Arteast choose the speakers we have at Grow with Art meetings? What about workshops? Do you have ideas for something Arteast could be doing?
The Grow with Art team is looking for a few new volunteers and we would like to see people with a fresh perspective. This team is responsible for the Arteast speaker series, workshops, the Grow With Art brochure, critique night, and so on. If you are interested in learning how this all comes together and, eventually, helping out in these areas, please contact Cheryl Mattice.

Appel aux bénévoles -- Grandir avec l’Art
Faites-vous partie de ces personnes qui se demandent ce qui se passe dans l’arrière scène ? Comment Arteast choisit-il les conférenciers que nous invitons aux soirées Grandir avec l’Art ? Et qu’en est-il des ateliers ? Avez-vous des idées pour quelque chose qu’Arteast pourrait faire ?
L'équipe Grandir avec l’Art est à la recherche de quelques nouveaux bénévoles et nous aimerions avoir des gens pour contribuer du renouveau. Cette équipe est responsable de la série des conférenciers Arteast, des ateliers, de la brochure Grandir avec l’Art, et de la soirée critique, etc. Si vous souhaitez savoir comment tout cela se déroule et, éventuellement, aider dans ces domaines, veuillez contacter Cheryl Mattice.
3. Registration Now Open -- Call for Art – Armchair Art Show - / Appel à l’art - Exposition d’art dans votre fauteuil - Inscription est ouverte

As we had to postpone our annual Arteast Juried Awards Exhibition (AJAE) for this year due to the pandemic crisis, we are organizing a fun replacement virtual show. There will be no need to leave your favorite chair to participate as there is no drop off, no vernissage, and no pick-up. Only a few simple rules. This is a great opportunity to show and sell your art with no Arteast Commission.
This is a virtual and non-juried show and is open to Arteast Ottawa members whose membership is up-to-date only.
If you are not sure of your membership expiry date, contact the Membership Coordinator. To become a member, or renew your membership, please visit our Membership page.
Depending on the number of participants, more than one show may be put in place with a maximum of participants per show. Registration opened August 1 and will close on August 22, 2020. For further information and to register, please visit our website at Arteast Armchair Art Show.

Comme nous avons dû reporter notre exposition annuelle d’Arteast avec jury et remise de prix (EAJRP) pour cette année en raison de la crise pandémique, nous organisons une amusante exposition virtuelle de remplacement. Il ne sera pas nécessaire de quitter votre fauteuil préféré pour participer car il n’y a pas de dépôt d’œuvre, pas de vernissage et pas de ramassage. Seulement quelques règles simples. Une excellente occasion de montrer et de vendre votre art sans commission à Arteast.
Il s’agit d’une exposition virtuelle et sans jury et ouvert aux membres d’Arteast Ottawa dont l’adhésion est à jour seulement.
Si vous n’êtes pas certain de la date d’expiration de votre adhésion, communiquer avec la coordinatrice des adhésions.

Selon le nombre de participants, plusieurs expositions pourront être mis en place avec un maximum de participants par exposition. 4. Reminder: New Arteast Facebook Chat Group
In response to a collective wish by our members to connect and exchange ideas about their artistic practice, a new Facebook group temporarily entitled “Arteast Ottawa Forum” has been created to address this need. This added value online group will allow our highly motivated members to be more personally engaged with other members in real time.
To join this group, search “Arteast Ottawa Forum” in Facebook and request to join. At that time, it’s important that you read and accept the rules. A moderator will ensure that your membership is up-to-date and then admit you to the group.
Members will be able to vote online to determine a new name for this group. Feel free to make suggestions online until August 9th. Suggested names will be added to a poll that will open August 10th and close August 31st, 2020.
