Given the need for self-isolation and social distancing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, all of Arteast Ottawa’s exhibits and most activities are cancelled and/or postponed to a later date. Stay tuned as we are making arrangements to offer you our planned May 26, 2020 presentation, by Robbie Lariviere, using an online platform. Click on this link for a short video of his recent work. Additional details will be provided to you in an upcoming Digest.

In addition, we are pleased to extend a Call for Art to members to show their work on the Home page of our website. Please refer to the Image Guidelines document. Images must be of good quality and adhere to our image guidelines in order to be added to the website.

To submit an image, please use the Contact Form - Web Administrator. Also provide the title of your work, media used, your name, artist website url (or social media account url) if you have one and upload your image.

Please Note: The next set of member work will be posted to the website on May 8th.

The Winter/Spring 2020 Communiqué is now available online at http://arteastottawa.com/newsletter/

We wish to remind you that Arteast is no longer sending the newsletter to members by regular mail. All issues will continue to be posted on Arteast’s website and a very limited number of printed copies will be available at Grow With Art meetings. Bhat Boy, community activist and founder of "Art in the Park", shares how his strong sense of community translates into his unique style of painting. He will talk about his enjoyment engaging the imagination of spectators and how his inclusion of Nuns and Dragons in his work relates to preconceived ideas about individuals and the darker side of the male psyche.

Bhat Boy, activiste communautaire et fondateur du festival intitulé "arts dans les parcs," expliquera les liens entre son engagement communautaire et son style unique en peinture. Il discutera sa passion envers le public et leur imagination. De plus, il nous présentera des sujets, entre autres, des religieuses et des dragons. Finalement, la relation entre ses idées préconçues des gens et l’aspect sombre du psychisme masculin sera discutée.

2. Changeover Reminder for Orléans Library Exhibition is on March 3, 2020


It's time to change the exhibition of members' artworks on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the Orléans Library Branch, 1705 Orléans Blvd., Orléans, Ontario.

New artworks will be on exhibition until May 5, 2020.​

Please retrieve the works that are currently hanging and/or bring in new paintings (or other two-dimensional art).

This type of exhibition is an ideal opportunity for new Arteast members to show their work.

Please find following the information about our guest speaker David W. Jones. Due to the large number of attendees at the AGM he ran out of copies. 

 

David offers a Summer Landscape Painting Course from June 16 to July 21, 2015 every Tuesday from 10:30am to 4:30pm. For further information please call Caroline Akeson (O.C.D. School Board) at 613 239-2309.
