Arteast Digest: Members' Announcements

1. Members' Announcements

Arteast member Danielle Beaulieu will be exhibiting in the Da Artisti Gallery from July 31st to October 13th. Two new series will be on display.

The first series of paintings entitled "From the Farm to the Kitchen" represents fruits and vegetables that end up in our kitchen. During our daily activities, we may not take a lot of time to observe the fruits and vegetables that we pick up at the grocer or market. Paintings force us to admire their structure, shapes and colours.

The second series entitled "Oh So Sweet" contains bright coloured candies with crystal containers. Unlike fruits and vegetables, as children, we probably all admired the bright colours of candy. As adults, seeing candies probably brings back cheerful memories.

The vernissage is on Saturday August 3rd from 9am to 5pm at 2565 Old Montreal Rd, Cumberland ON K4C 1A1.

In addition, Marie Léger and Wendy Canci, also a members, will be exhibiting in the gallery during the same period.

6.  Exhibition Blackburn Library: Otto Graser

The Blackburn Library in conjunction with Arteast is proud to present an exhibition.

When: From July 27, 2019 to September 28, 2019

Coordinators: Lore Organ at gomamlore@gmail.com; Josée Bourassa at Jbou1963@outlook.com;

Over the years, I have worked with several mediums: oils, acrylics, watercolors, etchings, etc. Lately (since I have my first Mac SE30) I have become fascinated in applying my artistic endeavors to exploring the world of digital art. The computer allows me to experiment with a vast array of tools: brushes, pens, pencils, textures and millions of colors.

Recently, I have been preoccupied with ArtRage 5, a standalone, drawing and painting application with incredible realistic simulation of the everyday world. I also toyed with the free application KRITA and others Procreate, HewPaint, Zen Brush 2 and Affinity Designer. The use of these applications (other than Photoshop) is greatly favored by the digital art community.

This is a unique opportunity for the public to enjoy, encourage and support local artists in their community as well as engaging with the Blackburn Library.

Location: 199 Glenpark Dr. Ottawa K1B 5B8.
Hours: Mon. through Thurs from 10 – 8:30
Friday from 1 – 6:00
Sat. from 10 – 5

Arteast Digest: North Gloucester Library, Plein Air Event (note change of date)

1. North Gloucester Library - Reminder July 9, 2019

The Library is planning repainting of the walls, therefore on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, please retrieve the works that are currently hanging. We will not be able to accept new artwork as the painting will be done on Friday mornings and Sundays while the library is closed to the public, so it could take most of the summer to complete. They expect the work to be complete in September.

We will keep you informed about the progress and the date when we can display our art again.

Have a great summer.
