Arteast Digest: Passing away of memorable member

1. Passing away of memorable member

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Otto Graser, a valued and respected member of Arteast for many years. Otto was an active participant at our events and exhibitions and won awards at our juried shows. His prodigious artistic talent, humour and wit will be remembered always. Otto passed away on April 6, 2020 due to COVID19-related illness. Our deepest condolences go to the Graser family whose support of Arteast Ottawa is greatly appreciated. Art on the Farm - Save the Date (Saturday, August 15, 2020) - Registration Package is available.

In spite of the challenging times that we are currently facing, we here at the Friends of the Farm are still trying to prepare for when life in Ottawa returns to some semblance of normal. As such, it is with a great deal of faith and hope that we are optimistically putting together our registration package for this year's "Art on the Farm" event. It is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2020 and we invite you to be optimistic with us!

This year's event is rain or shine and it will be held at the Arboretum, at the Central Experimental Farm, behind Building 72. Information can be found on our website www.friendsofthefarm.ca and here is the link to the 2020 event: https://friendsofthefarm.ca/event/2020-art-on-the-farm/ as well as the link to the vendor registration form. At this point in time, I am only asking to receive the completed registration package from interested parties; payment will be requested later once we have a better idea if the event will indeed go forward. It is preferable to send the completed registration by email to info@friendsofthefarm.ca if you are able to.

While no one is able to know how long the Covid-19 crisis will impact us, we are choosing to be optimistic that our art event has a 50-50 chance of going forward. We will keep you posted on our progress along the way.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 613-230-3276 (leave a voicemail) or by email at info@friendsofthefarm.ca.

Sincerely,
Susan J. Kehoe
Event Coordinator, Art on the Farm - 2020
