1. Opportunité d'exposition au centre MIFO

La Galerie d’art Eugène-Racette du Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans (MIFO) s’associe à Arteast Ottawa, le temps d’un mois d’exposition. Quatre artistes francophones d‘Arteast auront l’occasion d’exposer entre trois et quatre de leurs œuvres dans le but de contribuer au développement culturel de la région.

À cette fin, Arteast lance un appel ouvert à ses membres francophones pour des soumissions d’exposition.

Date limite et avis
Les propositions doivent être transmises  par courriel à dbeaul0155@rogers.com  au plus tard le vendredi, 7 septembre 2018 à minuit. Les propositions en retard ou incomplètes ne seront pas évaluées.
La décision du comité d’évaluation sera transmise par courriel aux candidats environ deux mois après la date limite.

Date de l’exposition : le 5 mars au 28 mars 2019
Vernissage : 8 mars 2019

Veuillez noter que les participants ne seront pas rémunérés.

2. Arteast Juried Awards Exhibition 2018 / Exposition d'art par jury pour prix 2018



Call for artists 


The 37th Annual Arteast Juried Awards Exhibition will be held at St Laurent Complex, 525 Côté Street, Ottawa K1K 0Z8 from Sunday September 16th, 2018, through Wednesday, November 21st, 2018.


The "Rules of the Exhibition" and the "Registration Form" are inserted in the summer issue of the "Communiqué" and can also be found on the Arteast web site at www.arteastottawa.com

Please, note the following:

  • The Arteast Juried Awards Exhibition is open to all paid members.
  • If you don't remember your membership expiry date contact the Treasurer at treasurer.arteast@gmail.com. Mail your membership fees to Arteast, 245 Centrum. Suite 260, Box 5, Orleans, ON K1E 0A1. 
  • This year, the registration is online only and must be submitted by Saturday, Sept 1st, 2018). Contact Cheryl at 613-824-7835 should you require assistance.
  • Artists will receive an electronic acknowledgement upon receipt of their application.
  • The number of artworks has been limited to one per artist due to the space restrictions.
  • Bring your signed 'hard copy' of the registration form and submission fee to the drop off.
  • The drop-off on Saturday, Sept. 15th, between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM at the St. Laurent Complex. There will be signs directing artists. 
  • Refer to the attached "Rules" for more details.
  • Please send your photo in jpeg format if you would like your work to be considered for the AJAE invitation design ajae@arteastottawa.com.
  • All sales will be coordinated by Arteast on takedown day, Thursday, November 22nd, 2018


Last year's exhibition was a great success due to the number of participating artists and the quality of the artwork. Let's have an even greater show this year!

  • L'exposition d'art annuelle d'Arteast par jury pour prix est ouverte à tous les membres (adhésion payée)

L'exposition de l'an dernier a été un grand succès grâce aux nombreux artistes participants et à la qualité de leurs oeuvres. En espérant la même qualité d'exposition pour cette année.


3. Member's Announcement


Final Weekend! - ALSFORD-PHILLIPS Art Studio Open House

The final weekend for Lynne Alsford’s and Mike Phillips’ studio open house is next weekend:
- Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 August, noon – 4:00 p.m.

But you can also visit Monday 13 to Thursday 16 August - 10 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., by appointment only.


Lynne and Mike will be showing paintings, photography, photo-based art and junk-art sculpture.

The studio is located at 914 Lawnsberry Drive in Orleans (area bounded by Highway 174, Champlain and 10th Line). For further information, call 613-830-1829 or e-mail alsford-phillips@hotmail.com.

Pop-Up Plein Air Event Aug 18th at the Woodpark Common Ground Community Garden

Calling all artists and creative folk! Painters, Sketchers, Photographers and others! We are inviting you to join us from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, Aug 18th to share the beauty of our community garden.

Located just north/east of Lincoln Fields Transit Station, our community garden and an adjacent orchard make for the perfect space to create nature-inspired art and mingle with community members and local art groups. The event will include coffee, snacks, live harp music and a (voluntary) art showing toward the end of the event.

We will also have an all-ages collective art activity.

This event is free of cost, thanks to a grant received by from TD Park People and volunteers from Woodpark Common Ground Community Garden.

Arts Carleton Place Itty Bitty Art and Crafts Show & Sale
November 3-4, 2018
10:00-4:30pm
Carleton Place Canoe Club , 179 John St.

This is your chance to participate in a one of a kind art show and sale for holiday shopping in a great setting along the Mississippi River! Let’s encourage people to look at original pieces of art as affordable and within everyone’s reach at this time of year. Looking for vendors who produce original small paintings of all media, photographs, jewellery, pottery, blown glass, fused glass or works of wood as well as books. Plenty of free parking for visitors at this venue with plenty of natural light. Last year, the show had twice as many visitors as the previous year and sales tripled.

All works must be priced no higher than $150 but there is no size limit. 30 spaces are available on a first come, first served bases.

Entry fee is $60-$90 depending on booth size. All spaces having access to electricity. Set-up on Friday afternoon (preferred) or Saturday morning but must be completed by 9:45 a.m.

Registration deadline is September 1st, 2018.

If you are not currently a member of Arts Carleton Place, you must also add $20 for membership dues with your registration form.

A central cash will be operated by Arts Carleton Place with a commission of 5% on cash or cheque sales and 8 % on credit card sales. Sales reconciliation will be done at end of the show and electronic money transfers to vendors distributed thereafter.
