Arteast’s 25th Anniversary Picnic
August
22nd from 10am to 2pm Arteast will hold
our very first Family and Friends Picnic
at Petrie Island, situated at picnic
area 4. Just bring your lunches/snacks, come with your kids,
grandchildren, spouse and let’s celebrate our 25th. We will have
activities for the kids. Also members can have fun, maybe can do some
Plein air painting.
Picnic
area: The picnic area is located to the west of the main beach area.
It contains a number of mature trees that provide welcome shade.
There is also a beach suitable for small children.
Parking:
Parking costs $2 for 5 hours.
Petrie
Island has some restriction : Users of the picnic area are
reminded: 9 pm curfew, no dogs on the island, no alcohol, clean up
afterwards, don’t feed those cute looking animals, don’t catch
the frogs or turtles, don’t pick the nice flowers. If you want to
cook food, bring your own gas barbeque — no charcoal please because
there is no place to safely dispose of the coals.

prochaine activité sera le pique-nique familial qui aura lieu
à l'île Petrie, samedi le 22 août de 10h à 14h.
Venez partager cette belle journée avec vos collègues, vos enfants,
vos petit enfants, votre époux/se. Veuillez bien apporter votre
diner.
Nous
aurons des activités artistiques pour les petits, et peut-être les
plus grands pourront faire de la peinture plein air.
La zone
de pique-nique est située à l'ouest de la zone de la plage
principale. Elle contient un certain nombre d'arbres matures qui
offrent de l’ombre. Il y a aussi une plage pour les petits enfants.
Stationnement
: Le coût est de $2.00 pour 5 hrs.
Les
restrictions à l’île Pétrie : Les utilisateurs de la zone de
pique-nique n'ont pas le droit de faire des feux, d'apporter leurs
chiens ou d'apporter de l'alcool. S.V.P. bien ramasser et nettoyer
après l'activité, ne nourrissez pas les mignons animaux, n'attrapez
pas les grenouilles ou les tortues et ne ramassez pas les belles
fleurs. Si vous voulez faire cuire de la
nourriture, apportez votre propre barbecue à gaz - pas de charbon
s'il vous plaît, car il n'y a aucun endroit où le jeter en
sécurité.

Exposition
d'art par jury pour prix 2015: Invitation aux artistes
The 34th
Annual Arteast Juried Awards Exhibition will be held at St
Laurent Complex, 525 Côté Street, Ottawa K1K 0Z8 from Sunday
September 27th, 2015, through Thursday, November 19th, 2015.
The "Rules
of the Exhibition" and
the "Registration
Form" are
inserted in this summer issue of the "Communiqué" and can
also be found on the Arteast web site at: www.arteastottawa.com
Please,
note the following:
- The Arteast Juried Awards Exhibition is open to all paid members.
- This year, the registration is by e-mail only and should be sent to ajae@arteastottawa.com by Tuesday, Sept 8,2015. The registration form should be in the Word or PDF format only.
- The number of artworks has been limited to one per artist due to the space restrictions.
- Bring your signed 'hard copy' of the registration form and submission fee to the drop off.
- The drop-off on Saturday, Sept. 26, between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM at the St. Laurent Complex. There will be signs directing artists.
- Refer to the attached "Rules" for more details.
- Please provide a photo (jpeg)
of your artwork if you would like it to be considered for the AJAE
invitation. All sales will be coordinated by Arteast on takedown
day, November 20, 2015.
Last
year's exhibition was a great success due to the number of
participating artists, the quality of the artwork and the number of
sales. Let's have an even greater show this year!

Notez ceci :- L'exposition d'art annuelle d'Arteast par jury pour prix est ouverte à tous les membres (adhésion payée)
- Cette annéée l'enregistrement se fait uniquement par courriel et doit être reçu avant le mardi 8 septembre, 2015, à ajae@arteastottawa.com. Le formulaire d'enregistrement doit être en format Word ou PDF.
- Dû au manque d'espace, le nombre d'oeuvres d'art est limité à une oeuvre par artiste.
- Lors du dépôt d'oeuvre, apportez votre formulaire d'enregistrement et votre paiement.
- Le dépôt des oeuvres sera le samedi 26 septembre entre 09h et 10h au Complexe St-Laurent. Il y aura des affiches pour diriger les artistes.
- Pour plus de détails, référez aux règlements en pièce jointe.
- Veuillez fournir une photo
(jpeg) de votre oeuvre si vous désirez que votre oeuvre soit
considérée pour l’invitation d’AJAE. Toutes les ventes seront
coordonnés par Arteast le jour de démontage, 20 novembre 2015.
L'exposition de l'an dernier a été un grand succès grâce aux nombreux artistes participants, à la qualité de leurs oeuvres et au nombre de ventes. En espérant la même qualité d'exposition pour cette année !

Communiqué
Arteast's
hard-copy, quarterly newsletter—Communiqué—is popular with our
members, but did you know that it is also available on our Web site
at http://arteastottawa.com/newsletter.php? A notification when a new
issue is released is communicated via the weekly Arteast Digest.
Posting of the Web version may be viewed in full dazzling colour, at
least two weeks before the print version (black and white) is
delivered by Canada Post. With rising postal costs, some members
have requested that they be removed from the mailing list for the
printed copy. Other advantages of going with the online Communiqué
are:
-
reduces printing and envelope costs;
- makes
Arteast more "green";
- no
more hunting for misplaced issues (Arteast's Web site has the current
and all back issues).
Printed
copies will be available at our monthly Grow With Art meetings and
the Promenade Arteast gallery at the Shenkman Arts Centre. If you
prefer to read the newsletter online, please e-mail us at
editor@arteastottawa.com to have your name removed from the
newsletter mailing list.

populaire auprès de ses membres, mais saviez-vous qu’il est aussi

Starting
September 2, 2015 until the end of the month, Christine (Lenoir)
Godin will have a solo exhibition of new works. It takes
place at: La Maison des arts, 2 LaPalme Street in Embrun,
Ont. on the corner of Notre Dame and Lapalme streets.
The
vernissage is Sunday, September 13 from 1 to 3pm

Art on the Farm in the Arboretum

The
Friends' premier summer event Art on the Farm showcases local and
regional artists displaying and selling their original artwork.
There's so much to savour in one day - paintings, sculpture, glass
art, woodwork, pottery, stoneware, and jewelry. There isn't a more
beautiful and peaceful setting than under the luxurious canopy of the
CEF Arboretum next to Building 72. The event is free and located just
east of the Prince of Wales roundabout.
This year we are including a silent
auction of donated artwork plus a Bistro featuring handmade Ottawa
Valley baked goods, exotic Costa Rican coffee, vanilla bean, cacao
nibs, and more. If this natural setting is the place for your
